Crake Valley Farm is located in Vumba in the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe bordering on Mozambique. It is situated at 3,610 feet above sea level and the coffee is comprised of the Catimor, Caturra and Red Catuai varieties. All coffee is washed and the effluent is irrigated onto dairy pastures and the coffee pulp is made into compost. The farm has protected a vast area of forest and has promised to only plant coffee where deforestation has already occurred before the farm was purchased. The farm provides housing, water, electricity and health care for over 150 workers and their families. There is also a school and community center on the farm for 300 children.
